Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinics
We are now providing periodic low-cost spay and neuter clinics to
qualified individuals in Cayuga County and residents of other counties who have been referred by
humane societies, animal control agencies, etc. See Spay & Neuter.
Humane Law Enforcement
The Shelter is staffed by volunteer humane law enforcement officers. They respond to calls of alleged animal cruelty/abuse/neglect.
Free Rabies Clinics
The Shelter, in cooperation with the Cayuga County Health Department provides three free rabies clinics per year in Cayuga County.
Humane Education
The Shelter's Humane Law Enforcement Officers are prepared to visit schools, civic groups, scouting troops,
senior groups and make presentations on humane treatment of animals and other relevant topics.
Lost and Found
The Shelter maintains lists of dogs and cats that have been both lost and found.
Liaison with Local Animal/Dog Control Officers
The Shelter directs callers who have lost their pets or found a stray to the appropriate agency through their respective Town Clerks.
Referral Service
The Shelter maintains a list of local services such as veterinarians, boarding kennels, trainers, groomers, wildlife rehabilitators and routinely refers callers to these services.
