We find ourselves with the regrettable job of finding another home for Bianca our pit bull mix. Bianca is four years old and we've had her since she was 8 weeks. She is from New Fairfield Animal Shelter in CT and was one of 9 puppies from a stray pit bull. Bianca and Jolie (our Great Pyrenees) have become aggressive toward each other. 99% of the time they're fine, but that 1% has resulted in at least three fights, the last one left Jolie bleeding so badly that I had to take her to the emergency vet for stitches. We've consulted area behaviorists and no one has given us much hope. Individually the dogs are wonderful and well behaved. They get along fine with other dogs, but for some unknown reason can't get along with each other. With two such large powerful dogs, we're terrified they'll seriously hurt or kill each other. Jolie has a function in our home. She watches over our daughters when they play outside, alerting me if they leave the yard or if someone approaches. She does her job very well, a job Bianca has never been interested in. So, as much as we love her, we're forced to find a home for Bianca. She is a lovely dog, playful outside, loves to run with me while I bike, but is very calm in the house. In truth she sleeps most of the day. She rarely barks and is good with children. She loves to cuddle and will always respond to a firm command. I often walk her without a leash and she stays right beside me. She is spayed, house broken, up to date on all vaccinations and very healthy. She's been known to chase cats and squirrels, but is very good with our rabbit. If you know of anyone who may be able to provide a good home for her, please contact us at (315) 849-3191. Additional photo...
