Illegal
operation errors are the
annoying error messages that pop
up from time to time that say:
This program has performed an
illegal operation and will
be terminated.
It is VERY, VERY important that
at this point you do not just
get annoyed and close this
error. There is a button
in the lower right hand corner
of this error box that says 'DETAILS'. Click on this
button and right down EXACTLY
what the detail message says.
Then, give us a call at 689-3400
and speak to one of our two PC
Repair Technicians on
staff. We will need to
know what the error says, the
details error and what you were
doing when the error occurred.
Do NOT just ignore these
errors. They will not go
away, and remember that there is
a reason that they are
happening. The number one
reason that these errors occur
is....... a VIRUS. If it
is a computer virus that has
caused the problem and you
choose to ignore it, then
eventually your only option to
fix the problem will be a format
and reinstall of your hard
drive. You will lose all
information on your
computer. You will also
have been sending the virus to
everyone you email or that is in
your address and contact book.
There are other reasons that
this can be occurring besides a
virus. Anything from
motherboard conflicts and memory
errors to programs that have
missing or corrupt files.
With any of the above causing
the problem, it is still
important to have the problem
fixed rather than ignoring
it. Eventually, it will be
more difficult, timely and
costly to fix than it would be
to take care of it when it
starts.
